One of my favorite musicians sings a song about returning to the Pacific Northwest and says, “the evergreens and caffeine still remind me of you”. I will always feel this way. My perfect day begins with a great coffee shop and ends in an evergreen forest. For me, these activities foster comfort, adventure, and creativity all in one. I strive to bring these elements into my designs and photography.
Professionally, my background includes nonprofit work in economic development and international water purification. I took this experience into the healthcare industry and then the healthcare technology realm. I had always run a photography business on the side, and for my clients, I strove to facilitate an excellent experience so that the photoshoot itself became memorable and the resulting images were deeply meaningful. I believe technology can help us foster authentic human connection, and this reality motivates many of my designs.
I am currently working with a medical device startup on software and brand design. Most recently I was a Senior Product Designer at AutoNation Mobility, working with the shopping and checkout teams to help customers find and purchases vehicles through micro leases. Prior to that, I was the sole Senior Designer focusing on the checkout path at Blue Nile. I prioritized discovering user pain points, exploring and prototyping concepts, and setting a plan to execute those concepts. Purchasing an engagement ring is a huge milestone, and I worked to bring trust, simplicity, and convenience to the checkout experience while keeping accessibility and feasibility at the forefront. Before focusing on checkout and payments, I spent several years working on projects from conception to execution across the Blue Nile site, touching everything from landing pages to the design system to internal customer service projects. I am a compassionate designer, focusing on crafting excellent interactions and delightful experiences. I strive to promote authentic human connection, inclusivity, and accessibility.
